Drogas y primeras materias Paniker SA
Founded by several partners on February 3rd., 1922, including Raimuni Pàniker Amah, who gives the name to the brand new company.
Born in India, Raimuni Pàniker studied chemical engineering in England. In 1916 he moved to Spain, settling in Barcelona as a businessman and representative of a German company that manufactures chemical products for the leather industry.
The Royal California and Koltac brands are born
With an innovative spirit in terms of adhesives for footwear, in 1929 an experience was carried out in Elda of quality testing in children’s shoes: the basic idea was “if a shoe that is glued (with adhesive) resists the effort to which a child submits it it sure resists in all the others ”. At this stage, Paniker began to venture into the manufacture of other chemical products that would complement the initial leather tanning industry, such as solvent-based adhesives for the manufacture of footwear, a specialty that currently remains in the market. New ranges of products emerge under the brands ROYAL CALIFORNIA and KOLTAC
Paniker Avión, pegatodo (“Bond-everything”)
Paniker specialized in products for the tanning of leathers. One of the most emblematic brands of glue for general consumption was born: AVIÓN.
Mercè Pàniker takes over the management
When Raimuni Pàniker passed away in 1954, his daughter Mercé, a graduate in Chemical Sciences and very close to the family business, took over the management of the company. Later, Paniker is acquired by the Hispano Química Houghton company, whose owner was Bartolomé Parera Canals, a chemical company that commercialized different products for the textile industry, for tanning, steel, defoamers.
Paniker joins other markets : wood.
Luis Seguí, the General Director, learns that Hispano Química Houhton wants to sell Paniker so he acquires it. Later, in the mid-1970s, Paniker made the decision to enter other markets, such as wood
Carlos Rocamora and Francisco Pérez join as directors.
Carlos Rocamora and Francisco Perez join as Financial Director and Commercial Director respectively.
EUROPANOL: water-based adhesives emerge.
In this new stage, there is an expansion of Paniker’s manufacturing facilities that allow the development of new ranges of products. Water-based adhesives emerge, with the EUROPANOL brand, spanning new markets and applications, such as the paper market.
Paniker partners with British company Beardow Adams
In line with the trend of diversifying products, in 1992 Paniker partnered with a British company that manufactures Hotmelts adhesives, Beardow Adams, with the purpose of representing and commercializing its adhesives in the Iberian Peninsula.
The facilities are expanded for the development of new product ranges
Paniker was acquired by Beardow Adams and its Spanish partners Carlos Rocamora and Francisco Pérez.
Since then, this new company has invested in Paniker to expand production facilities, allowing the development of new product ranges: 1 and 2 kg polyurethanes, Reactive Polyurethane Hot melt for the textile market, epoxy resins, adhesives without toluenes, etc. Likewise, the range of products under the TISSUECOL brand is developed technically and commercially for the converting industry (Tissue), currently one of Paniker’s specialties
The export of Paniker adhesives is developed and consolidated in different markets and countries, through a solid distribution network both in Europe and in North Africa, the Middle East, Central America and South America.
Acquisition of a new manufacturing plant: Colas y Adhesivos Obrador.
Continuing with the growth policy, Paniker acquires a new factory in Alicante specialized in solvent-based products. This constitutes a great commercial bet, since it reinforces the presence of Paniker adhesives in markets such as footwear, mattresses, upholstery, insulation, construction, etc. while considerably increasing production capacity, minimizing service times.
New facilities for the manufacture of Tissue adhesives.
A new section specializing in adhesives for the tissue market is inaugurated. With this new investment, there is an increase in production capacity that satisfies the growing market demand.
Paniker ventures in the development of new products: Polyurethanes
After years of research and development, Paniker presents new ranges of polyurethane products, 1 and 2 K. Today, many products are widely validated by different markets such as artificial turf, panel sandwich, construction, filters, ceramic mesh, etc.
With an eye on the Circular Economy.
Improvements are made to the facilities by investing in a new section for the recycling and treatment of IBCs, in such a way as to promote and manage the reuse of medium-capacity plastic containers.
Changes in Paniker’s General Management
The Beardow Adams Group expands its shareholding in Paniker and Toni Pérez is appointed General Manager.
